Pedestrian Barrier / Grab Rails

Traffic Systems West supply Flexi-Tuff® Pedestrian Barriers – a ‘self-recovering’ pedestrian barrier unit. Pedestrian barriers are used to guide pedestrians and warn motorists of designated crossing zones on busy single or dual carriage urban roadways. Normally mounted at the kerbside and middle median strip cross-overs, they offer a clear alert as to the defined safety crossing zone.

The unique Flexi-Tuff® hinge allows a barrier, following minor collisions with motor vehicles, to return to the previous upright alignment without any significant damage to the barrier.

  • Secure installation is critical and we highly recommended the pedestrian barriers be supplied with our heavy duty surface mountings, as a comprehensive ready-to-use unit complete with 8mmØ x 75mm Concrete Fixings bolts.(4 each mount)
  • Fitment is also possible using existing in-ground steel socket mounts which will require at least 50mm of exposed socket above the ground level to secure the new hinge assembly. A minimum of 150mm of hinge must be within the steel socket. The design of the barrier has to be adjusted according to this mounting method, due to the Flexi-Tuff® hinge length variation and leg spacing dimensions.
  • The steel tube pedestrian barrier comes fully plastic powder coated for excellent durability and colour fastness in standard colours, normally white or safety yellow (golden yellow). Other colours are subject to availability of the powder coating materials.
